From the desk of Ned P. Rauch:

Last night, as I watched the election coverage, I noticed N.J. Gov.-elect Chris Christie's campaign playing "Born to Run" before his victory speech. I wonder how Springsteen, die-hard Dem that he is, felt about the Republican Christie using his song. He didn't like it when Reagan did it, and he didn't like it when Bush 1 did it either.

But it raises the question: Once a song's made, whose is it? We all attach our own meanings to a song, read into it what we will. Christie lives in Jersey, so there's no chance he doesn't own a copy of "Born to Run." Shouldn't he be able to play it at the biggest moment of his political life? I think so, even though I'm not a Christie guy.
