Mon, 5 October 2009 From the desk of Ned P. Rauch:I'm listening to the Red Stick Ramblers right now. Good, quick country/ western swing with flashy pickers and lots of twang. Quite a bit of Cajun in there, too, as the lead cut, "Je T'aime Pas Mieux," has the ol' hyperventilating accordion going on. Great stuff. These guys come from Baton Rouge, La., which explains their name, and record for Sugar Hill Records, which means they're walking in pretty tall grass: Dolly Parton, Bad Livers and Willie Nelson, among lots of other greats, are label mates. Anyway, the Ramblers are worth a listen. (Photo courtesy of Red Stick Ramblers.) Category: general -- posted at: 10:12 AM Comments[0] |
